Sutter Davis Hospital's mission is to improve the overall health of the communities it serves by providing high-quality, cost-effective healthcare, with compassion and excellence. The Sutter Davis Hospital Foundation strives to support that mission through philanthropy.

Founded in 1990 by a group of community leaders and residents, the Sutter Davis Hospital Foundation, a not-for-profit 501 c (3) organization, works to improve the quality of healthcare in Yolo County. The Foundation supports the 48-bed Sutter Davis Hospital serving residents of Davis, Dixon, Winters, Woodland, Esparto, West Sacramento and the rural areas surrounding those cities. Residents rely on Sutter Davis for vital programs and services, including:

Caring for our community's health remains at the heart of Sutter Davis' not-for-profit philosophy. We provide the highest quality medical care to all patients - regardless of their ability to pay.

However, like many community hospitals, Sutter Davis faces a number of challenges in the coming years. Declining insurance reimbursement and investing in state-of-the-art technology and new facilities strain hospital budgets. Meanwhile, the demand for healthcare services is rising as our local communities grow by leaps and bounds.

Despite these challenges, Sutter Davis continues to offer outstanding healthcare services, thanks in large part to the philanthropic support it receives from the community. Through the generosity of many, the Sutter Davis Hospital Foundation has raised more than $7 million over the years to help fund hospital services, equipment and capital improvements. Contributions to the Foundation helped build a new hospital in 1994, helped purchase state-of-the-art medical equipment and funded educational programs - all for the benefit of patients in our community.

Dedicated to meeting the rapidly growing healthcare needs of the community, the Foundation launched the Building Together Campaign in 2003, a capital campaign designed to assist with Sutter Davis Hospital’s expansion and building project. The $17.2 million expansion project includes constructing a second, 40,149 square foot medical office building and expanding several areas of hospital, including the emergency department, surgery center, laboratory department, cardiac rehabilitation and outpatient pharmacy. While Sutter Health is paying for the bulk of the project, the Foundation raised $2 million in philanthropic support from our community for this important expansion effort. The project is ongoing and is slated for completion by the end of 2008.

Donations allow us to continue providing outstanding staff, innovative programs, modern facilities, and advanced technology. Whether your donation is large or small, given in a single gift or over many years, when you support the Sutter Davis Hospital Foundation, you play a vital role in enhancing the hospital's programs and services.

The Foundation accepts donations through planned giving and charitable bequest donations, as well as annual and major gift programs and other vehicles. You may make a gift in memory of a friend or loved one who has passed away or in honor of an exceptional person in your life. Gifts may be designated for your favorite program or to the area of greatest need. All donations remain in our community and are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

We honor the many people who have supported us by displaying their name on our donor walls. We also pay tribute to our donors through various other naming opportunities located around the hospital.
