Visitor Information Sutter Davis Hospital

|

Guidelines for Visitors We know how important it is to have family and friends with you during your hospital stay. However, your recovery is always our first concern.
Unless your physician restricts visitors, your family and friends may visit you during the hours listed below. We ask that you limit your visitors to two at a time. Children under 12 are not permitted in patient care areas except when accompanied by an adult. Following this guideline will help ensure that you get the rest you need.
Please remind your visitors of our smoking policy. Smoking is allowed only in designated areas outside the hospital.
Visiting Hours General visiting hours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. in most areas of the hospital. Visiting is allowed in the Intensive Care Unit 24 hours a day but visits may be limited, depending on the patient's condition. If your friend or family member is undergoing surgery, please wait in the surgery waiting room so the physician and surgery staff can easily find you and keep you updated on your loved one's progress.
Visitor Parking Parking is free and available in front of Sutter Davis Hospital. If you require overnight parking or have a recreational vehicle or other oversized vehicle, please contact the Plant Operations and Maintenance Department at 757-5118.
Patient Condition Information We understand that your family and friends are concerned about you and want to be kept informed about your condition. To help limit the number of calls to our nurses, we ask that you make arrangements to have one family member or friend call the nurses' station responsible for your care to ask about you. They can then share that information with other family members and friends.
Food Service For a nominal fee, you can order meal trays to be served in the patient's room at patient meal times. If a guest tray is desired, visit the cafeteria cashier and pay for the additional meal or meals. Then go to the Nutrition and Food Services Department Diet Office to make your menu selection.
The cafeteria is open every day for the convenience of visitors and staff. Hours are:
Breakfast 8:15 a.m. - 9 a.m. Lunch 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Dinner 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Vending machines are located in the cafeteria and the Emergency Department waiting room where beverages and snacks may be purchased 24-hours a day. The vending machines provide change for $1 bills.
With doctor approval, you may bring food (except for home-canned food) to the patient you are visiting. There are no cooking facilities available to patients and visitors at the hospital, and storage space for food items is limited.
Lounges Waiting areas for visitors are located near almost every patient area. Some of our lounges have televisions and magazines.
